Be aware of Phishing to get your information.

There have been incidents reported of email accounts being hacked or spoofed and messages going out to contact lists. This could be even from an person you know. If you receive an unexpected email with a link that is unfamiliar DON"T CLICK ON IT. If you aren't sure, then contact the person who sent the message and verify it was sent by them.

Here is an example of an email:

What do you do if you think you may have opened one of these?
I received one that looked to be from Boise Premier who I worked with for a few months last year. But when I opened Google docs there wasn't anything there.

Jackie,
Opening the email isn't necessarily a bad thing. The problem is that when you click the link, it takes you to a page that appears to be a Google log in page, but isn't. Therefore when you "sign in", whoever this fake Google site belongs to now has your Google log in and password.

On a side note, if you have enabled "two step authentication" on your Google account, this type of scheme will not work. If you are interested in enabling this for your Google account, you can find information about how to do that here - https://www.google.com/landing/2step/
