Security Alert: Microsoft to Discontinue Support for Internet Explorer Versions 8, 9 and 10 on Tuesday, January 12, 2016
From Black Knight:
While BK MLS will continue to support Internet Explorer (IE) versions 9 and above for the near term, this is a courtesy notification of Microsoft's intent to discontinue support for IE 8, 9 and 10 next week
. It is also a call to action for you to start the conversation with your members about upgrading to IE 11 or using alternative browsers such as Firefox or Chrome sooner rather than later.
Today, it is easy to switch browsers and most offer wizards or options to import/transfer your bookmarks and settings.
Major alternatives to IE, which are supported by BK MLS, are Firefox
. Although, Microsoft launched its new Edge browser with Windows 10, recent reports are not favorable, so it might be wise to steer clear of Edge for now.
Subsequent reminders will be sent in the coming months as a date will be set in the foreseeable future where BK MLS will follow suit and discontinue support for older IE browser versions. Until then, encourage members to take action and upgrade or make the necessary browser changes before a deadline is set.
