Important Update About Yahoo Emails
Published on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 02:45 PM
In an attempt to block email spoofing attacks on, and limit spam to, yahoo.com addresses, Yahoo began imposing a stricter email validation policy over the weekend of April 5, 2014. This new policy, DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting & Conformance), has resulted in numerous emails to Agents, and their Clients, with Yahoo email addresses not being delivered to the recipient (including Agent CC and BCC’s). Yahoo’s policy change is not limited to Paragon and is affecting most email service providers.
For additional details regarding Yahoo’s policy change please see the following article:
Yahoo’s policy change rejects mail that appears to originate from their domain (@yahoo.com) but actually originates from a different IP address that belongs to someone else, such as Paragon MLS. Messages sent from Paragon that use an agent's Yahoo email address as the “from” address are likely to be rejected by the recipient’s email provider via Yahoo’s policy.
How will this affect Paragon Users?
We are currently testing a change to Paragon that will modify the way email messages are sent from the application to comply with the new DMARC policy from Yahoo.
Until we have a resolution in place, if you require immediate resolution to this issue, you should change your email address on your Agent Profile to something other than a Yahoo.com address if possible.
How will Paragon resolve this issue?
We are planning to issue an emergency release on Monday, April 14, 2014to address this issue for all Paragon MLS Customers.
Email addresses entered in Paragon will be modified to send all email messages with a standard “from” address. This address, “Email@ParagonMessaging.com”, is a valid address and conforms to the DMARC policy. Paragon will append the name of the Agent to the “from” header, to help clients identify who the message is from. In addition, Paragon will include the “reply-to” email address of the agent sending the message. This will allow customers to correspond with the agent, and not send messages back to the “from” address.
